Here’s what’s been going on in Social Media over the last week or so. Missing something? Email me or add your news in the comments section!
One of the big news stories was the US Airways jet landing in the Hudson river. Once again Twitter was the first place many of us heard the news, complete with pictures via Twitpic. In a few hours the event was discussed in every imaginable media. With Twitter’s massive growth over the last year, it’s clear that the way we communicate has drastically changed.
Many of us wonder if Twitter is killing blogging, and Debbie Weil, one of Ad Age’s Twitter Power 150 shares her thoughts on the subject.
The Obama team’s use of social media has continued to be scrutinized, and Edelman’s DC Digital Public Affairs team put together a white-paper called “Inside Obama’s Social Media Toolkit” available for free download, and Jeremiah Owyang wrote about the “Citizen’s Briefing Book.
Dan Schawbel tells us how to build the ultimate social media resume. Just in time too with all these layoffs, and to help you find that job, the Purple People Collective launched to help ex-Yahoos find work. Oh and if the job market’s got you down, don’t forget that social media makes for a great support group.

WordPress.TV launched with videos from the creators themselves to show you how to get the most out of the popular blogging app, and videos from WordCamp as well.
Speaking of WordPress, Dan Zarella just release TweetSuite which shows a nifty icon so users can post your title directly to Twitter as well as show off the trackbacks linking to your post.

Now I feel totally caught up to speed.
Do you really think Twitter is killing blogging? I mean, I found this blog through Twitter…
I probably should have listed some of the links to that discussion. Personally I think Twitter IS blogging and it helps fuel the ideas for many of my blog posts, so for me it’s a resource. That said, sometimes I don’t write a full review of an app, I just link to it on Twitter and hear what others have to say about it.
Here are a few links to consider to further the discussion: http://www.sharpbyte.net/tech/web/twits-kill-blogs/

In Washington DC area, we had a wonderful social media marketing seminar with digital marketing guru Rohit Bhargava and renowned PostSecret.com blogger Frank Warren. More than 100 metro-folk and even some from Philadelphia, PA came to hear these two speak about how their online communities have grown and how their message has doubled in reach due to social networks. The event was hosted by Network Solutions and sponsored by Johns Hopkins University Montgomery Campus.

To me, twitter is just an evolution of blog, at first we invited book, then later on video, and maybe later we can do 3D video and so on. So it just changes for the better (i think).
I am also read the US Airways accident from Twitter site before read more new on CNN.
I think Twitter clone site are open everyday.
