Francine: It's great that The Wellness Center is considering social media outlets as alternatives to creating community for their constituents. I know that people that don't have the strength to just get out still need that social interactiveness in their lives. I have a younger brother that has recently undergone surgery that pretty much has him sitting at home for the next few months. When I told him about Second Life, he was excited to try it out just to give him an escape from his daily routine.

As far as social media going mainstream; Maybe I misunderstood Chris' twitter, but it's evident that social media (networks) is already mainstream. Think myspace, think facebook - you can't get more mainstream than that.
