Revolution in Marketing Mini-Conference (more)

Today’s Arizona Republic had a wonderful story about the “Revolution in Marketing” mini-conference that Scoble and Chris are speaking at on March 1 in Phoenix, but didn’t have a link to the web site.  To register for the conference, click here.

Francine,

Congratulation on even getting a mention. This is Phoenix, the land of real estate developers and car salesmen.

The glass half empty theory:
The only reason that mention was made is because it was slow newsday, and “Marketing” was in the title.

The Republic is still living in the 80’s regarding the internet let alone Social Media. Their idea of Social Media is talking to you on the phone when you place a classified ad for the newspaper.

The Republic is not anywhere near ready for conversation, let alone in conversation with folks who spend significant time online. Fven their idea of so called blogs is monologue rather than dialogue. Don’t take my word for this, look at what they consider noteworthy in their bizblogs section”

The glass half full theory:
The Republic has recovered from being smacked upside the head with the Cluestick.

Take your pick, but don’t hold your breath.

Nice Dog!

It’s more complex than that. I typically befriend the Tech reporter and stalk him/her when they first arrive on the beat. Andrew is a neat guy, who knows his blog will go nowhere without a feed. He will help us as much as he can. But Gannett is still Gannett, and the newspaper still sucks. I think growth in AZ is saving it from extinction. I just keep working on these issues.

The dog is my new puppy, a rescue. Now he’s a media darling.
